Job description

Hourly salary of $24/hour
Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Menard Correctional Center in Menard, Illinois.
The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following:
  • Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
  • Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
  • Operating radiographic equipment
  • Administrative tasks as needed

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
  • Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
  • Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
  • Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
  • Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
  • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Shift: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday
