Job Title: Assistant Manager – Luxury Dog Hotel & Daycare

Location: 3622 E Willow Springs Rd, Spokane, WA 99223
Employment Type: Full-Time

Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 6:30 am to 9 pm daily; Primary Shifts - Evenings and Weekends

We are a premier luxury dog hotel and daycare dedicated to providing exceptional care, comfort, and enrichment for our canine guests. Our facility offers upscale accommodations, personalized services, and a safe, engaging environment where dogs thrive.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations and uphold our high standards of care and customer service. This role is ideal for someone who loves dogs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Office Manager in overseeing daily operations of the hotel and daycare
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff to ensure excellent animal care and customer service
  • Monitor the health, safety, and behavior of all dogs in our care
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kennels, grooming areas, and common spaces
  • Ensure proper group play management and safe handling practices
  • Communicate with pet owners, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns
  • Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and shift coverage
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and vendor coordination
  • Handle check-in/check-out processes and reservation management
  • Step in to support any operational area as needed, including direct animal care

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in pet care, animal services, hospitality, or a related field (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year supervisory or leadership experience (REQUIRED)
  • Strong knowledge of dog behavior and group play dynamics
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Physically able to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and work in an active environment
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a boarding, daycare, or veterinary setting
  • Certification in pet first aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
  • Experience in kennel management or pet sitting services is a plus
