Our team combines advanced clinical expertise, surgical care, and a compassionate approach to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced neurosurgical environment across both clinic and surgical settings.

Position Overview:

The Physician Assistant will work closely with our neurosurgeons and clinical team to evaluate and manage patients with a broad range of neurological and spinal conditions. This position includes outpatient clinical care, perioperative patient management, surgical assistance, and participation in the evaluation and management of trauma patients.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with a high degree of clinical responsibility while collaborating closely with our physicians and multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories, assessments, and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic neurological and spinal conditions under physician supervision and established practice protocols.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other appropriate imaging.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of Texas PA licensure and practice protocols.
  • First-assist in neurosurgical and spine procedures and support surgeons throughout the perioperative process.
  • Participate in preoperative evaluations, postoperative management, follow-up care, and patient recovery.
  • Serve as a first-call clinical provider for trauma patients when assigned, coordinating evaluation and escalation with the attending physician as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, recovery expectations, and preventive care.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Support additional clinical responsibilities as needed to maintain efficient, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment and medical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clinical priorities.
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach to care.

Preferred (but not a requirement):

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Previous experience in neurosurgery, spine surgery, orthopedic spine, trauma, or another surgical specialty.
  • Previous operating room and surgical first-assist experience.
  • Experience managing preoperative and postoperative patients.
  • Familiarity with neurological examinations and spine-related conditions.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced neurosurgeons and gain exposure to complex brain and spine cases.
  • Supportive, collaborative, and patient-focused work environment.
  • Opportunity for professional growth within a specialized and growing practice.

Who We're Looking For:

We are looking for a PA who takes ownership of patient care, communicates effectively, and thrives in a collaborative surgical environment. The right candidate will be comfortable balancing clinic responsibilities with operating room and hospital-based care and will share our commitment to providing patients with responsive, compassionate, and clinically excellent care.

If you are an experienced Physician Assistant interested in advancing your career in neurosurgery and spine care, we encourage you to apply.
