Description
Job Summary: Assists with the direction of all activities of a single Branch location. This includes performing all daily tasks needed to ensure a safety-first culture, expenses are controlled, and a high standard of operational excellence is routinely achieved. Additionally, this role with manage the Branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis:
1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions
  • Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Supports the successful management of branch operations and personnel
  • Assesses daily the need for purchasing equipment through feedback from salesman, CSRs customer feedback, vendor representatives and marketing department product managers
  • Assesses and modifies (if needed) weekly sales plans and ensure that they are carried out appropriately
  • Ensures on-going compliance with all statutory DOT and safety requirements
  • Perform dispatching duties (if needed) Inspect Profit Center yard daily
  • Ensures OSRs and CSRs are aware of slow-moving equipment.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with the Service Manager, making them aware of all equipment not available for rent
  • Oversees team goals, making sure they are met/exceeded, and compliance of company standards are kept through daily management
  • Assists with equipment demonstrations and technical support
  • Fosters a customer-focused approach to sales and service while ensuring the Branch Yard, facility and staff are professional and presentable
  • Ensures accurate financial reporting and budget preparation as well as various reporting, including, but not limited to: daily contract reports/AP on hold/accrual reports/asset disposal report
  • Driven and results oriented; business development and KPIs to meet corporate targets
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects

  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work-related experience required
Five to eight years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required
Three to five years of retail or store management experience preferred
Valid driver’s license
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position provides support and oversight for the Manager in Training which may include guidance and direction of other employees as it relates to a specific project or deliverables. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
Up to 30% travel
Physical Requirements:
  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladder
  • Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
  • Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area
Work Environment:
  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Noise level may be loud at times
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
  • On occasion time spent in confined spaces and high places.
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
