Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager supervises and motivates the store team, providing inspiration to drive sales and exceed customer service expectation through coaching, providing effective feedback and reward and recognizing accomplishments. Assistant Managers must promote a fun and positive work environment that fosters open communication, encourages teamwork and inspires creativity.

Our expanding business is looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

Leadership

  • Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
  • Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the store team.
  • Displays a customer comes first attitude by training and holding partners accountable for delivering legendary customer service.
  • Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Roggenart, an authentic European bakery
  • Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to store employees to ensure smooth flow of operations.
  • Ensures highest quality of products are being served to the customer including all drinks (effectively ensures product integrity). Ensures that all product serving procedures are adhered to.
  • Provides coaching and direction to the store team to take action and to achieve operational goals. Constantly reviews store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the store team to achieve operational goals.

Planning and Execution

Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:

  • Utilizes existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to the store team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective store operations.

Execute functional responsibilities:

  • Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community.
  • Plans for and achieves operational goals in the store. Requirements include inventory management, store setup and product layout, hygiene.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Works together with all the employees in the front house and leads by example and takes ownership of all store processes
  • Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results.
  • Ensures employees adhere to operational requirements.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience customer service management
  • 1 year of restaurant/kitchen management
  • Extensive food knowledge
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Serv Safe Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
