This is an onsite internship for Fall 2026 in Plano, TX up to 25 hours per week.About the Company

Inogen supports patient respiratory care by developing, manufacturing, and marketing innovative best-in-class respiratory therapy devices used to deliver care to patients suffering from chronic respiratory conditions. Inogen partners with patients, prescribers, home medical equipment providers, and distributors to make respiratory therapy products widely available, allowing patients the chance to manage the impact of their disease.

Our compact, lightweight, and travel-ready portable oxygen concentrators are designed to provide patients with an alternative from heavy tanks, managing tank refills or being tethered to stationary systems. We believe our products allow oxygen therapy patients to reclaim their mobility. With each step we take to improve our products and service, our customers take another step toward more active lifestyles.

Firmware Intern Summary

Summer/School Year Engineering Intern will work onsite in Plano, TX during the school year for up to 25 hours per week. As a Firmware Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects that enhance our products and services. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in firmware development, testing, and debugging. The intern will meet regularly with their coach to define daily tasks and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of firmware for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements and specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document firmware development processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in firmware technology.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems and firmware development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Inogen assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees.  The base salary for this position is expected to be between $21.19 and $23.37 hourly. However, actual base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including as to individual skills, education, experience and market location.
