Description

Linvilla Orchards is looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Grounds & Hayride Department. This position involves a variety of tasks that change seasonally, from grounds maintenance and firewood management to customer-facing responsibilities such as driving hayrides. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and can follow instructions as given by the Grounds & Hayride Director. They should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, operating equipment, and interacting with customers during our busy seasons.


Responsibilities:

  • Cut, maintain, and manage firewood supplies.
  • Chainsaw operation and wood cleanup.
  • Operate mowers and string trimmers and assist with general ground cleanup as needed.
  • Perform seasonal clean-up and maintenance at Linvilla Orchards' two swim clubs.
  • Assist departments in moving displays and furniture as directed.
  • Transition to a customer-facing role during peak seasons, including driving hayrides and assisting guests, and completing deliveries.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across the property.
  • Follow all safety protocols and proper equipment usage guidelines.
  • Work independently and efficiently while also taking direction from the Grounds & Hayride Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience operating chainsaws, mowers, and other landscaping equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects on a regular basis.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and execute tasks as directed.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor for customer interactions during the hayride season.
  • Availability to work some weekends *weekend work required during peak seasons (September - November)
