Job description

Job Title: Firewatch Supervisor
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $25-29/hour

Overview:
We are actively seeking a highly organized Firewatch Supervisor to oversee and manage Firewatch personnel in a busy shipyard environment in Jacksonville, FL. This individual will be responsible for coordinating with leadmen and managing the daily operations of Firewatch teams to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and site regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Firewatch personnel in the shipyard
  • Work directly with leadmen to ensure Firewatch coverage is properly scheduled and aligned with ongoing hot work operations
  • Manage and maintain Firewatch logs and documentation
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all Firewatch personnel are compliant with safety protocols and equipped with the necessary PPE
  • Pipeline incoming Firewatch personnel to areas requiring coverage
  • Monitor performance and provide direction or corrective action as necessary
  • Serve as the point of contact between Firewatch crews and site management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Previous supervisory experience, especially in a shipyard or industrial setting, is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of shipyard safety protocols and hot work operations
