Job description

Job Summary
Performs routine daily, weekly and monthly inspections of fire suppression and control systems within the Arconic facility. Responds for fire alarms and fires at locations within the facility. Responds to medical emergencies and at times performs drug and alcohol screenings on injured employees. Works with Arconic leadership while on shift to promote a safe work environment for Arconic and their employees. Performs basic emergency care within company environmental considerations according to approved policy and procedures and scope of practice. Provides basic technical support to Arconic Safety and Health as assigned to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Performs data entry for fire system impairment notifications.
  • Removes lock-out/tag-out locks in accordance with Arconic procedures.
  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly, and annual fire inspections.
  • Evaluates work areas for fire potential prior to hot work activities.
  • Manages Department of Homeland Security inventory.
  • Completes all annual fire suppression system testing as directed by Arconic.
  • Supports Arconic environmental response processes related to spills and other environmental issues.
  • Supports and assists fire suppression system contractors while on-site, as necessary.
  • Performs fire suppression system troubleshooting, diagnosis, and minor repairs.
  • Responds to all emergencies within the facility and provides basic emergency care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Current paramedic or emergency medical technician advanced (EMT-A) certificate to practice professionally in Tennessee.
  • Experience - 2 years minimum Firefighter/ HazMat / EMS

  • CPR and AED certification required.
