Description
JOB TITLE: Powder Coat Applicator 2nd Shift
JOB SUMMARY
The Powder Coat Applicator is responsible for preparation of parts and application of specified powders. Other responsibilities include inventory, quality control processes, and keeping work area organized and clean.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 1 year of experience with hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Powder coat/paint experience preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Must have good attention to detail skills
  • Be familiar with safe operation of powder coat equipment and understanding of applicable OSHA laws and requirements
  • Mechanical skills

CORE DUTIES
  • Apply specified powder to the product in accordance with standards for proper coverage, thickness, and surface quality
  • Adjust valves and observe gauges to set pressure and control flow of powder to the gun
  • Perform color changes required by customer specifications
  • Ensure color chip matches powder coat scheduled
  • Maintain cleanliness of booth spray gun and surrounding area
  • Wear all required PPE such as a respirator
  • Return powder to storage daily
  • Inspect parts to ensure quality coverage
  • Inform the supervisor when supplies are low
  • Maintain a powder storage organization
  • Other duties as assigned

HOURS
  • 2nd shift position
  • Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
  • Friday - overtime as needed

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
