Job description


Position Summary
Primarily responsible for growing Southland's Fire Sprinkler Service business by prospecting within an assigned market territory to develop and cultivate new owner-direct relationships with existing building owners, property managers, facility managers, and other key stakeholders. Focuses on fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and replacement opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes.
Position Details
  • Develops new Fire Sprinkler Service business by identifying, prospecting, and securing customers for fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and modernization services.
  • Sells recurring service agreements, inspection contracts, deficiency repairs, system upgrades, code-required corrections, and fire sprinkler project work.
  • Proactively manages the entire sales process, including prospecting, qualifying opportunities, understanding customer compliance requirements, preparing proposals, conducting presentations, negotiating contracts, and closing sales.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with building owners, facility managers, property managers, general contractors, and other key stakeholders to become a trusted fire sprinkler and life safety advisor.
  • Maintains regular communication with customers to identify inspection deficiencies, code compliance concerns, system replacement needs, and other opportunities to improve fire sprinkler system performance and reliability.
  • Partners closely with Fire Service Operations, Inspectors, Technicians, and Project Teams to identify repair, replacement, and upgrade opportunities resulting from inspections, testing, and service activities.
  • Coordinates with operations to ensure customer satisfaction, timely resolution of service issues, and effective execution of contracted work.
  • Continuously generates new business through customer referrals, networking, industry associations, community involvement, and targeted business development activities.
  • Develops and executes strategic account plans for key customers while identifying opportunities to expand service offerings and increase account value.
  • Actively supports the renewal process for inspection and maintenance agreements, seeking opportunities to expand scope, improve coverage, and increase contract value.
  • Serves as the primary customer point of contact for Fire Sprinkler Service opportunities while leveraging Southland's broader capabilities to deliver comprehensive building solutions.
  • Maintains a robust sales pipeline and opportunity tracking system, providing accurate forecasting and facilitating effective turnover meetings with operations teams.
  • Achieves annual sales goals, gross profit targets, and activity metrics while operating within approved budgets.
    Maintains knowledge of applicable fire sprinkler codes, inspection requirements, and industry standards to effectively support customer needs and identify business opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of service policies, procedures and capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to develop customer relationships
  • Demonstrated sales skills in prospecting, qualifying, proposing and closing sales and capable of developing and managing large accounts (existing and new)
  • Strong collaboration skills internally and externally, with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Frequent travel to job sites within assigned region
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Solid knowledge of CRM
  • Education:Two-year relevant degree or equivalent training and experience, such as trade-level training or industry experience
  • Experience: 3+ years in direct relevant experience.
