Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventative maintenance of life safety (fire detection, security, CCTV, & monitoring) product lines.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve them via physical equipment installation or software changes.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation program via the laptop computer.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction for continual company growth.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time with little supervision.
  • Support emergency service call-outs on a rotational basis.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Two years of experience in commercial/industrial fire alarm systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word documents as they relate to inspection reporting.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be willing to travel within NC/SC for day trips and work extended hours as needed.
  • Possess or obtain knowledge of NFPA, State, and local fire codes and become NICET certified.
  • Ability to program systems via laptop using minor to complex equations and thought processes.
  • Knowledge of computer networking, IP addressing, and connectivity.
  • Understanding of low voltage electrical, including troubleshooting skills and instruments.
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn security systems and CCTV.
  • Ability to abide by basic safe work practices.
  • Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC)
  • Material Handling: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Work Environment: Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
