As a IT Site Infrastructure Manager supporting the Manufacturing & Technical Operations (MTO) Team in Johns Creek, GA. You will be responsible for the lifecycle management of infrastructure, driving continual improvements, and the delivery of all local IT infrastructure services for the site that includes Manufacturing, Distribution, R&D, and Administration functions. This is a hand-on technical individual contributor role that manages the IT infrastructure for the site. A typical day will include:
  • Oversee end-to-end integration and delivery of IT infrastructure services to the site including data center management, network management, firewall management, compute and server management, backup management, capacity management, vulnerability management, cybersecurity management, pc lifecycle management, and print management.
  • Maintain a stable infrastructure environment with maximum uptime to support a highly automated and high-volume manufacturing site that operates 24x7x360.
  • Serve as an escalation for incidents and problems that are unresolved by first line support and provides on-call IT support.
  • Collaborate with business and global IT functions to identify and document infrastructure requirements, analyze requirements, and propose solutions that align with IT standards and policies.
  • Liaise with site IT Head to deliver business requests, providing early input into the infrastructure planning and budgeting process.
  • Collaborates with site IT Head to understand current IT services, processes, roles; provides consulting to local business on infrastructure related topics / actions.
  • Strategic alignment and coordination of multiple project priorities and deadlines from the site and global IT services.
  • Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a complex matrix organization while providing great customer service.
  • Proven experience managing escalations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in audits and ensure appropriate response to audit findings and recommendations.
  • Identify potential improvement areas for system/application and connected services.
  • Strong vendor management and stakeholder management skills, outstanding communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collects, documents, and distributes knowledge about systems and services to enable effective IT support.
  • Updates, guides, and mentors third-party deskside support team that supports campus.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

Preferred Experience:
  • Degree in a technical field preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Systems Security, Engineering) with seven to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Windows Certifications and Network Certifications.
  • Strong experience supporting and trouble-shooting a large Microsoft OS footprint (Windows 10, 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) environment.
  • Strong experience supporting large complex network (WAN / LAN, Cisco and Juniper network switches, VLANs, Firewalls, DNS, VPN, SSO, wireless access points, etc.)
  • Experience supporting on-site data center (Racking, cabling, documentation, Power, ATS, Cooling, Fire Suppression, etc.)
  • Experience supporting other infrastructure such as Active Directory, local file servers, DFS, storage, print servers, print queues, and local printers.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity and vulnerability management tools and processes
  • Experience with Service Management Processes (Incident, Problem & Change management)
  • Experience with concepts around cloud-based infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience supporting site with MES and SCADA applications.
  • Familiar with Oracle and SQL Server databases to collaborate with database administrators.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in technical writing.
  • Experience using Service Now for Service Desk Ticketing and Operational Reporting.
  • Good knowledge of computer system validation and GxP regulations.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and IT / OT landscape.
  • Experience supporting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller), Instrumentation, and related OT.
  • Manages a 24x7 operations and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and outside office hours when needed.
  • Experience working in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
