Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Market Leader based in the Pacific Northwest, ideally near Portland, Oregon or Bellevue, Washington. This position reports to the sub-regional team leader and is a "seller doer" who is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, selling new services and offerings, and performing senior technical consulting for new and existing clients.

Successful candidates will ideally reside in and/or relocate to the Pacific Northwest area to allow for appropriate proximity to the team necessary for successful engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Client Focus
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for continuing revenue growth via a range of professional engineering and life safety, and fire engineering services to achieve the subregional/regional revenue goals
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues to deliver quality products, on time and within budget
    • Manage client expectations and relationships through clear and thoughtful communication and assist team members in doing the same
    • Lead business development activities such as attending local society meetings and meeting with clients; these activities will be arranged and/or supported by the regional team
  • Establish credibility with clients by managing close association with professional/trade organizations, code-making bodies, and regulatory agencies
  • Accountable for meeting profitability goals assigned (clients / accounts)
  • Technical Excellence
    • Perform technical engineering and consulting services, specifically in code consulting, fire life safety, and other fire engineering assessments
    • Perform project management activities for projects assigned to you
    • Serve as a senior engineer / consultant and technical leader for the regional team and perform quality control reviews of deliverables prior to submittal to clients
    • Ensure business processes are implemented and recommend improvements for delivering best-in-class service
    • Exhibit the highest standards of honesty and integrity
    • Develop innovative solutions by leveraging differences in education, personalities, skill sets, experiences, and knowledge bases within the team

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in fire protection engineering
  • Demonstrated successful history in performing technical consulting work and developing and cultivating client relationships
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Engineering or another technical field.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver sales presentations to clients
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, NICET certification, or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated business development mindset and client development portfolio required
