Fire Protection Inspector
Premier Fire & Security, an APi Group Life Safety USA company, has over 50 years of experience in the fire suppression industry and serves customers throughout the Southeast. Our services include fire sprinkler systems, security systems, fire alarm and detection systems, special hazards systems, voice data systems, and fire extinguisher products.
Job Summary
The Fire Protection Inspector will conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire protection systems. These systems include fire sprinklers, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and special hazard suppression systems. The role requires accurate and timely completion of tasks while following all safety and health regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform visual and functional tests on fire protection devices and systems according to national and local standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of inspections and tests performed.
  • Follow and manage a structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation through field software.
  • Complete inspections within assigned timeframes.
  • Document deficiencies and provide repair recommendations.
  • Assist with repairs under authorized supervision.
  • Service wet, dry, and pre-action fire systems using a thorough understanding of system types and testing equipment.
  • Ensure professional and timely communication with customers to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Organize and use technical resources efficiently to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Submit all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements and practices.

  • NICET Level I or II Certification in Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, or Special Hazards Inspection (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Previous experience in fire protection system inspection or related field.
  • Technical training or trade school certification related to fire life safety.
