About the Opportunity
M&M Fire Protection and Security is currently seeking a Fire Alarm and Security Electronics Technician. This position requires the ability to install, maintain, and repair electronic security systems, including CCTV and alarm systems.
Job Duties
  • Installation: Installing and wiring fire alarms, security systems, including access control, CCTV, Gate systems, Intercom, and alarm systems, following blueprints and building plans.
  • Programming: Knowledge of programming various systems pertaining to CCTV, Intrusion, access control, intercoms, gate systems.
  • Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance, including cleaning, adjusting, and testing security equipment and systems.
  • Repair: Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in fire alarms and security systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Testing: Conducting tests to ensure proper system operation, including testing circuits, sensors, and backup systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with fire alarms, security systems, CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, and gate systems.
  • Support: Providing technical support to users, explaining system functions, and assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Documentation: Maintaining records of system installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Integration: Integrating security systems with other safety and security subsystems, such as fire alarms or emergency systems.
  • Security Assessments: Assisting with security assessments and recommending equipment and systems upgrades.
  • Training: Training users on how to use and maintain security systems.
  • Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and codes during installations and repairs.
  • Inventory: Managing parts inventory and maintaining tools.
  • Communication: Responding to work orders, communicating with clients, and coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in electronics, electrical wiring, and security systems.

Compensation
  • Pay is hourly and is negotiable dependent on candidate experience
  • All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week
  • Paid 4 hour minimum at the time and half rate for emergency service calls
  • Paid 4 hour minimum at the double time rate for emergency services calls on recognized holidays, in addition to 8 hours of holiday pay at the regular rate
