Description

State Fire is a trusted name in fire protection, keeping businesses and people safe across multiple states. We install and service fire alarms, suppression systems, security solutions, and more. Right now, we're looking for a Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician to join our team.


Experience is great, but not required-we provide full training. If you're willing to learn, we're willing to teach!


What You'll Do
  • Inspect, service, and recharge fire extinguishers to NFPA 10 standards
  • Handle dry chemical powder recovery and refilling
  • Perform basic weight, pressure, and component checks
  • Identify damage, corrosion, or compliance issues
  • Operate recharge equipment safely and keep the work area clean
  • Tag, label, and document serviced extinguishers
  • Follow safety procedures and assist shop or field teams as needed


Requirements

What You Need
  • Ability to use hand and battery-operated tools.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills in English-both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and travel overnight when needed.
  • Obtain a Utah Fire Extinguisher License within 60 days of hire
Physical Requirements
  • Work on ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
