Department Summary
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Adjunct Instructor Positions for Academic Year 2026-2027. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences. Position Overview
Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction for algebra and calculus based Physics, Astronomy, and the associated labs. Most of these labs are offered in the afternoon or evenings. Instruction for science lecture courses (Earth Science, Environmental Science) for non-majors may also be possible.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in Physics with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower level Physics courses OR a Master's degree in Science Education with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level science courses
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong teaching skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics with significant experience in Higher Education.
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience teaching and developing online courses.

  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
