Job description
What You Will Do
- Assist with EMS protocol education and course development.
- Coordinate and teach EMT, Advanced, and Paramedic Refresher Courses.
- Coordinate and teach Initial First Responder, EMT, Advanced, and Paramedic Courses.
- Coordinate and teach AHA Courses including - Heart Saver, BLS, ACLS, & PALS.
- Coordinate and teach ITLS, PEPP, ASLS, AMLS, & GEMS Courses.
- Assist with civic, and corporate Health Fairs, Health Screenings, Injury Prevention Programs, as well as UH Hospital run health fairs and or marketing events.
- Assist in the development of courses and presentations as needed.
- Assist Medical Director / Physicians with EMS lectures at local EMS continuing education classes
- Set up and provide maintenance to basic equipment used in education courses and programs.
- Participates in other educational programs and meetings as deemed necessary by the EMS Institute Director or Manager.
- Perform tracking and data collection as needed.
- Keep up-to-date licenses/certifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- Associate's Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience
- 3+ years municipal Fire/EMS experience (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- EMS-I (Required proficiency)
- AHA Instructor (Required proficiency)
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
- Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. (Preferred proficiency)
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)
