Job description

Position Description The Tacoma Fire Department is hosting two Women in the Fire Service recruiting events this fall. Each event will include an informational panel Q&A followed by a hands-on workshop with fire service equipment. We will be hosting two sessions, and each session will cover the same info and both will be completely free.

Space is Limited to the first 85 (per session) people who sign up. Dates & Times SESSION #1: Saturday, September 19th from 9:00am - 3:00pm SESSION #2: Saturday, October 10th from 9:00am - 3:00pm Please join us in an informal and welcoming environment to: Hear from women leaders with TFD and the City of Tacoma Discuss a career in the Fire Service Learn about career advancement within the departments and beyond Hear first-hand accounts of what it's like to be a woman in the fire service Understand our hiring process, salaries, and benefits Ask questions you might otherwise be hesitant to ask Attendees will have the opportunity to rotate between hands-on stations hosted by the Fire Department and will include activities such as pulling hoses, EMS, and handling equipment. We invite you to come learn about the Tacoma Fire Department's recruit process and a firefighter's day-in-the-life directly from women in the field.
