What are fire alarm systems?

Fire alarm systems are networks of devices designed to detect and alert building occupants to the presence of fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide. These systems typically include smoke detectors, heat sensors, manual pull stations, alarm sounders, and control panels. When a potential fire is detected, the system activates audible and visual alarms to warn people to evacuate the premises and can also notify emergency services. Fire alarm systems are critical for ensuring occupant safety and are required by building codes in most commercial and residential properties.
