Responsibilities
  • Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and system diagrams to accurately plan and execute installations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure fire alarm systems are installed correctly and meet all safety regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repairs on fire alarm panels, sensors, low voltage wiring, and associated components using hand tools and power tools.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate system integration during building phases and ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Document all work performed through detailed reports, including system configurations, schematics updates, inspection logs, and service records.
  • Provide field service support by diagnosing issues quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimize system downtime.

Skills
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and electrical diagrams related to fire alarm systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in fire sprinkler fitting and construction inspection processes.
  • Proficiency in working with sensors, alarms systems sales processes, fire alarm sales strategies, and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment for sensors and alarms, as well as electrical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for low voltage wiring and system installation standards.
