Position Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and close out of fire alarm, suppression, or security projects in their assigned region. This role involves coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that systems are installed according to OBC, NFPA, and client specifications. The Project Manager will also manage project budgets, timelines, and provide regular updates to customers.
Position Reports To: Fire Alarm & Security Operations Manager (Regional)
Responsibilities:
These descriptions of responsibilities are anticipatory and may change based on business needs.
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of managing projects from conception to completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to effectively plan and execute fire alarm and suppression projects and security projects. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to promote efficient execution of projects. Partners with the design team to facilitate applicable drawings are provided on time to meet project timelines.
  • Compliance: Ensure all fire alarm and suppression system installations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Ensure each system has been properly installed and commissioned prior to final acceptance tests with the AHJ and customer.
  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage project budgets. Monitor and control project costs to ensure financial efficiency. Ability to plan and forecast project needs, including hours, in advance of beginning on-site work.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports. Ensure all project documentation is correctly stored and archived. Ensure installation hours are correctly added and charged against projects being managed.
  • Communication: Organize and attend project meetings. Provide regular updates to all stakeholders. Facilitate good communication between customers, design, and project teams.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to installation teams as needed. Assist in the development of new business proposals and proposal reviews.

Qualifications:
  • Experienced Project Manager with similar or transferrable industry knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and safety regulations preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Procore and Salesforce is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
  • Requires occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
