Job Description:
Develops and manages cross-Consumer & Small Business strategy formulation, initiatives, and insights. Advises senior-level leaders on strategic decisions, and partners across the enterprise to deliver integrated strategy and achieve growth objectives. Influences key process changes and investments, based on highly complex market insights and business strategy.
Manages and develops talent in an inclusive environment.

The Strategy & Business Ventures team is an internal strategic consulting function across four of Bank of America's eight major lines of business, including Retail Banking, Preferred & Small Business Banking, Business Banking and Global Commercial Banking, as well as partner organizations.

Responsibilities:

As a Strategy & Business Ventures director, you will own and deliver high impact, high visibility strategic initiatives across Regional Banking with your 6-12-person bespoke strategy team. This role works closely with business unit leaders to ideate new growth opportunities, transform strategic vision into actionable roadmaps, and mobilize cross-functional teams. In parallel, you will be directly responsible for shaping new-to-bank talent from top undergraduate and MBA institutions as well as distinguished military veterans, positioning Bank of America as a best-in-class employer for future new hires.

Your key focus areas:

  • Own top priority strategic initiatives from ideation through execution - working with business leaders to identify opportunities, scope initiatives, align resources, build project plans, and report on overall progress
  • Lead project teams by managing day-to-day execution, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring quality team deliverables
  • Develop and present actionable business recommendations to advance top business priorities
  • Guide and mentor junior talent to support their professional growth and development
  • Represent Bank of America and participate in recruiting and engagement events as a method of top talent acquisition (travel may be required)
  • Drive results with a high degree of accountability, without direct authority, and with exceptional attention to detail
  • Champion the Strategy & Business Ventures delivery and development culture

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience leading cross-functional, strategic initiatives to deliver high impact outcomes in the financial services industry
  • Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or corporate development roles is a plus
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem solving skills to examine business challenges objectively and develop data-driven analyses, informing go-forward recommendations
  • Rigorous quality standards and attention to detail for all work products
  • Outstanding communication, storytelling, and presentation skills (both verbal and written, including PowerPoint), able to concisely summarize key observations, clearly articulate considerations, and propose solutions and next steps
  • Strong ability to collaborate and engage across functions and business lines and build strong working relationships with business partners at all levels of management
  • Multiple years of experience managing teammates with responsibility for work quality output, timely work completion, and teammate development

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university
  • MBA or an advanced business degree from a top-tier institution
  • Direct managerial experience with formal talent management processes
