OP Labs - Sr. Product Manager, Fintechs & Exchanges

San Francisco, CA • On-site, Remote

$149K - $196K/yr

Full-time

Job description

OP Labs builds Optimism, an open-source blockchain network that powers the next generation of financial infrastructure. Hundreds of companies, from the world's largest enterprises like Sony, Coinbase, Kraken, Uniswap, OKX, and Bitpanda to the most ambitious early-stage builders, use the OP stack to launch their own blockchains and bring their users onchain. Today, over 65% of Layer 2 activity on Ethereum runs through the OP stack.
We are a small team building at the speed of the ecosystem we support. We're remote-friendly but the NYC office is our center of gravity. We've raised $178M from a16z, Paradigm, and others. We have our work cut out for us and are looking for exceptional people to join us.
Role and Responsibilities
We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to drive onchain adoption by fintechs and centralized crypto exchanges in the Optimism ecosystem.
Fintechs and crypto exchanges are rapidly moving their business onchain to serve as the most important distribution partners for bringing millions of users and billions in assets onchain. In this role, you'll define the roadmap for enterprise-facing products that help these businesses expand their product suite and integrate DeFi functionality without sacrificing user experience.
As the creators of Optimism Mainnet and the infrastructure that powers all OP Stack chains, OP Labs is dedicated to enhancing Ethereum's performance exponentially. We operate as a Public Benefit Corporation, aligning our mission with the greater public good by funding Ethereum public goods through our growth.
What are the role responsibilities?
  • Lead the Fintech & Exchange Roadmap: Define and execute product strategy across integrations, SDKs, and infrastructure that help fintechs and exchanges embed onchain services into their platforms.
  • Champion the Customer: Build deep expertise in fintechs and exchanges, understanding their needs around compliance, custody, and user experience. Translate those needs into products and partnerships that deliver measurable value.
  • Drive Adoption of Onchain Services: Launch and scale products that make it easier for enterprises to offer yield, trading, payments, and other onchain financial products to their users.
  • Partner with the Ecosystem: Collaborate and coordinate with DeFi protocols, infra providers, custodians, and chain operators to accelerate ecosystem growth.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with engineering, BD, design, and marketing to bring new products from concept to launch and iterate quickly.

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech, consumer finance apps, or centralized crypto exchanges. Direct experience with onchain/DeFi products is a strong plus.
  • Customer-Driven: Strong ability to engage with enterprise partners, uncover pain points, and translate them into actionable product requirements.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working across custody, wallet infra, and protocol integrations to inform product decisions.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of fintech product mechanics (e.g., trading, lending, payments) or exchange infrastructure.
  • Collaborative & Adaptable: Thrives in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities and rapidly developing regulatory landscape
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal skills; able to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mission-Aligned: Belief that blockchains can make financial services more open, efficient, and accessible to anyone.
