Job description

As the Senior Public Relations Manager, you'll provide strategy to skillfully execute on external and internal communications, with a strong emphasis on editorial excellence and data-driven storytelling. This team member is prepared to roll up their sleeves, mine data and market trends for compelling narratives, and share their vision of all things Rocket Mortgage. You'll be flexible and efficient while remaining detail-oriented, with a sharp editorial eye and the writing and editing skills to elevate the team's output. You'll have familiarity with the public relations field and show awareness of media trends on a local and national level.

About the role

  • Develop and implement media relations programs

  • Lead editorial development of data-driven narratives, translating complex business, market and industry data into compelling stories for media and executive audiences

  • Mine proprietary and third-party data sets and reports to surface trend stories and newsworthy angles ahead of the market

  • Write, edit and oversee the editorial quality of press releases, bylines, executive reports and long-form narrative content, ensuring a consistent and polished voice

  • Serve as an expert-level editorial resource for the PR team, providing structural feedback and quality control across written deliverables

  • Partner with data, insights and analytics teams to source, validate and contextualize data used in storytelling

  • Initiate and maintain relationships with national and local media

  • Develop, write and present story ideas to reporters and editors

  • Work independently with executive leadership

  • Oversee large, critically impactful projects for the organization

About you

  • 7 years of public relations, editorial, journalism or related experience

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, writing, English or a related field

  • Proven track record of turning complex data into narrative-driven stories that earn media coverage

  • Exceptional editing skills, with experience setting and maintaining editorial standards across a team

  • Demonstrated ability to mine data, research and reports for original story angles

  • Experience developing and executing strategic, earned-first brand campaigns
