Who we are looking for.
State Street Alpha is seeking a motivated individual who can support the governance, oversight, and responsible adoption of AI technologies across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, compliance, product, and FinOps teams to help ensure AI solutions align with enterprise governance, security, risk, and cost management standards.

The team you will join is part of Charles River Development (or CRD), which became part of State Street in 2018. CRD creates enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in institutional investment, wealth management, and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.
As AI adoption continues to accelerate across the enterprise, governance, architectural oversight, and cost transparency are critical to ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and operationally sustainable. This role will support the responsible evaluation, onboarding, governance, and consumption management of AI solutions and services while helping teams align to enterprise standards, financial accountability, and strategic objectives.
What you will be responsible for
As a candidate for this position you will:
  • Support governance reviews and assessments for AI solutions, platforms and services.
  • Collaboratewith cross-functional teams including architecture, engineering, security, compliance, legal, risk management, and FinOps teams.
  • Assist in the developmentand maintenance of AI governance standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Evaluate AI technologies and services against enterprise governance, security, compliance, operational, and cost management requirements.
  • Support AI consumption governance activities including monitoring model utilization, licensing usage, token consumption, and AI operational spend.
  • Assist with identifying AI cost optimization opportunities and governance controls to support responsible usage of enterprise AI platforms and services.
  • Contribute to tracking and reporting AI platform usage metrics, trends and governance compliance activities.
  • Participate in governance reviews related to AI model usage, third-part AI services, Generative AI tooling, and AI-enabled development platforms.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for governance meetings, architecture reviews, and action tracking.

  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI service consumption models.
  • Knowledge of cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Familiarity with reporting, dashboarding, or cost management tools is preferred.
  • Understanding collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $118,750 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
