Job description

Senior Software Developer - Remote

A well-established consumer media and technology company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help modernize the data systems behind its digital products.

This is a senior, high-autonomy engineering role on a cross-functional Scrum team. You'll build and back-end APIs and microservices, partner with product, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into reliable systems, and help set the technical bar for pipeline design, testing, and monitoring. This is a full-stack developer role with a heavy emphasis on back-end development and data interchange.

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years building data solutions, including real-time streaming and event-driven systems
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery
  • Solid grasp of data modeling fundamentals, including dimensional modeling and warehouse design
  • Comfort working in Agile/Scrum teams and owning technical decisions with minimal oversight

Nice to have: data governance/lineage experience, exposure to ML workflows, prior technical leadership.

This is a remote role with schedule flexibility. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
