Job Summary (FinOps Program Lead)
- Monitor and optimize cloud usage and spending across the organization to ensure cost efficiency and financial alignment with business goals.
- Partner with Infrastructure & Operations, Product, DevOps, and Finance teams to analyze cloud resource usage (primarily Azure), identify cost savings, and enforce cost accountability.
- Develop detailed financial forecasts for cloud expenditures, aligning with growth trends, utilization, and project requirements.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track cloud costs, budget compliance, and financial performance.
- Establish and enforce policies for cloud resource tagging, allocation, and spend limits.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership on cloud spend trends, risks, and anomalies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to support efficient resource allocation for new features and projects.
- Lead and support FinOps education initiatives to promote best practices among stakeholders.
- Design and implement tools (e.g., Cloud Product COGS calculator) to guide pricing and packaging decisions.
- Implement reporting and governance frameworks for automated alerts, KPI tracking, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure financial and regulatory compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Utilize cloud cost management tools (such as CloudHealth, Spot, AWS Cost Explorer) for analysis and reporting.
- Employ financial modeling and cost analysis skills to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Work onsite 3 days per week at the Richmond, VA office, with a flexible schedule.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 8+ years in Finance/FP&A roles, with 3-4 years in cloud finance/operations (preferably SaaS/cloud-native).
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and pricing models.
- Experience implementing cloud cost analytics frameworks by product.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field.
- Familiarity with FinOps principles and basic scripting (Python, SQL) is a plus.
