Job Description

Summary:

This role is the designated Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the retail population of theCentral US (locations below). As part of the Retail HRBP team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing People & Culture related policies, programs, and practices that produce a high-performance culture and ensure the Company's goals for the Retail Division are met. You will support talent development, mitigate employee relations issues, enhance employee experience and support recruitment as the point-of-contact for all HR matters in your region.

Please note: This is a field based role that will be required to visit Central US based retail stores frequently, often with limited advance notice. Ideal candidates will live within close proximity to the following locations:

  • Atlanta, GA
  • Chicago, IL
  • St. Louis, MO
  • Troy, MI
  • Edina, MN
  • Columbus, OH
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably independently managing a population
  • Knowledge of fundamental HR practices - employee relations, talent development, performance management, recruitment, compensation + benefits, employment law
  • Familiar with HR systems - Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, digital learning platforms
  • Excellent communication + presentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, often with limited advance notice

Responsibilities:

  • Employee relations:
    • Work proactively with Retail management to minimize employee relations issues
    • When needed, conduct investigations or interventions to mitigate/resolve problems
    • Approve and administer disciplinary actions
    • Partner with senior management and legal on cases - recommend action plans
    • Ensure adherence with all HR policies, as well as employment-related legal, regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Talent development
    • Lead Annual Review process for region - manage consistency and completion
    • Partner with managers throughout year to monitor and improve employee performance
    • Support promotions, career path mapping and succession planning
    • Work with Learning & Development to assess needs (new hires, people managers, ongoing development), shape content and champion platforms with teams
  • Recruitment & exits
    • Source, interview and assess retail talent
    • Specific focus on pipelining for staffing new stores and/or key roles
    • Coach managers on hiring best practices
    • Conduct exit interviews and log/analyze/report on meaningful feedback and retention/turnover data
    • Support onboarding and offboarding operations with payroll/benefits, IT, L&D, loss prevention, etc.
  • People operations
    • Work with Compensation team on ensuring competitive package offerings per location and Benefits team to publicize and market robust offerings to staff
    • Work with Finance team and Retail Operations on headcount planning per store
    • Keep HRIS system (Workday) up-to-date, help users as needed
    • Ensure parity in policies, practices and standards
    • Identify and implement programming to optimize the retail employee experience

Estimated Base Salary:$95,000 - $115,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman's total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
