To thrive as a Nanny, you need experience in childcare, a good understanding of child development, and often basic first aid or CPR certification. Familiarity with child safety protocols and tools like baby monitors or childproofing systems is typically required. What are nannies?

Nannies are professional caregivers who provide personalized childcare in a family's home. Their responsibilities often include supervising children, preparing meals, organizing activities, and sometimes assisting with homework or light household duties. Nannies can work full-time, part-time, live-in, or live-out, depending on the family's needs. They play an important role in supporting children's development and well-being while offering parents flexibility and peace of mind.

What are some common challenges nannies face when working with families for the first time?

Nannies often encounter challenges such as adapting to different parenting styles, establishing clear communication with parents, and integrating into new family routines. Building trust with both the children and parents can take time, and it’s important to clarify expectations and boundaries early on. Additionally, nannies may need to navigate differences in discipline approaches or daily schedules while ensuring the well-being and development of the children under their care.

Job description

Job Description An active and welcoming family located near Smyrna is seeking a caring, mature, and engaging nanny to support their 13-year-old daughter. She is a very sweet, polite teen who would benefit from a positive role model who can provide encouragement, companionship, and motivation as she navigates her teenage years. The family is hoping to find a nanny who can naturally step into a "big sister" type role-someone who enjoys spending quality time together, helping keep her active and engaged, and encouraging her interests.

She enjoys volleyball and is considering trying tumbling or lacrosse, so a nanny who can support her activities and help with transportation will be important. The ideal nanny will be patient, positive, and emotionally supportive while helping build her confidence and independence. Responsibilities will include school and activity transportation, spending meaningful time together, helping keep her on track with daily routines, and being a consistent and encouraging presence in her life-especially during times when mom travels for work.

The family would love to find someone mature, dependable, and proactive who aligns well with their family values. Spanish or Portuguese language skills would be a wonderful bonus, as mom is originally from Brazil, though this is not required. 1 dog Schedule Monday - Friday 12:30pm - 6:30pm One or two weeks per month they will also need assistance in the mornings to help get their daughter to school
