Financial Tracker information

What is a financial tracker?

A Financial Tracker is a tool or professional who monitors, records, and analyzes financial transactions and activities to help individuals or organizations manage their finances effectively. This role involves keeping track of income, expenses, budgets, and financial goals, often using specialized software or spreadsheets. Financial Trackers help ensure that financial records are accurate and up-to-date, enabling better financial planning and decision-making. Their work is essential for maintaining financial health and achieving both short-term and long-term financial objectives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a financial tracker?

To thrive as a Financial Tracker, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting or finance principles, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with financial tracking software such as QuickBooks, Excel, and other financial management systems is typically required. Excellent organizational skills, integrity, and clear communication help build trust and ensure accurate reporting. These skills are crucial for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting informed decision-making, and safeguarding an organization's fiscal health.

How does a financial tracker typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

A Financial Tracker regularly works alongside departments such as accounting, operations, and project management to ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded and reported. This collaboration often involves sharing budget updates, flagging discrepancies, and providing timely financial insights to aid departmental decision-making. Strong communication skills and an understanding of each department’s financial needs are essential, as Financial Trackers frequently participate in meetings and cross-functional projects to align financial tracking with overall business objectives.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Sales Data & Administration Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for compiling sales data from the ground up, organizing it into structured Excel files, and keeping the Sales Master File and KPI Tracker accurate and up to date. The role serves as a key communication point with the SCM team on sales activity and supply status, and with the Business Management team on revenue, ensuring the sales organization always works from a single, reliable set of data.

1. Sales Data Compilation & Excel Management

  • Collect and compile raw sales data (POs, shipments, invoices, deductions) from source systems on a bottom-up basis

  • Build and maintain structured Excel files so that all sales data is analysis-ready for the sales and management teams

  • Consolidate monthly revenue figures by customer, channel, and SKU based on received Purchase Orders (PO)

  • Perform regular data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency across all files

  • Prepare standardized data sets, pivot tables, and summary views to support revenue analysis

2. Master File & KPI Tracker Management

  • Own the regular update of the Sales Master File, keeping item, customer, price, and promotion data current

  • Update and maintain the KPI Tracker, reflecting the latest actuals against targets

  • Maintain and update Sales Promotion, Customer Review, and Reset schedules

  • Apply version control and ensure data accuracy across all master files and trackers

3. Cross-functional Communication

  • Communicate regularly with the SCM team on inventory, shipment, and supply status to support sales activity and revenue analysis

  • Coordinate with the Business Management team on revenue figures, monthly closing, and revenue reporting

  • Share sales data and schedule updates with Sales, SCM, Procurement, and Finance teams on a set cadence

  • Escalate and follow up on issues quickly to keep data, shipments, and revenue records aligned

4. Sales Activity & Revenue Reporting Support

  • Prepare monthly revenue and sales activity summaries from the compiled raw data

  • Track Plan vs. Actual at the data level and flag gaps for the sales team's review

  • Support the sales team with ad-hoc data pulls and customer-level reporting requests

5. HQ Reporting

  • Prepare and submit regular HQ reports (monthly/quarterly) based on consolidated data files

  • Respond promptly and accurately to ad-hoc data requests from senior management and HQ

  • Compile reporting packages covering revenue status, schedules, and KPI Tracker results

Requirements:

  • 0-2+ years of experience in sales administration, sales support, or data management

  • Strong communication, organizational, coordination, and follow-up skills, with the ability to work daily with SCM and Business Management teams

  • Ability to handle large data sets and multiple reporting timelines with a high level of accuracy

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data consolidation and cleansing); experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food Industry

  • Experience managing trade promotions and deductions

  • Experience working with key retail or distributor account

  • Experience extracting and reorganizing sales data from ERP or reporting systems for analysis

The base salary for this position is between $28-33/per hour.  Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
