General Description

This position is based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL. We are seeking a Financial Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. The Financial Business Intelligence Developer is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence reports and data solutions using SQL Server technologies and related business intelligence tools. This role involves querying, cleansing, troubleshooting, integrating, and migrating data from multiple sources to support reporting and business operations. The Developer collaborates effectively within a team environment and partners with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, develop data-driven solutions, and support business decision-making. Responsibilities include advanced SQL development, ETL processes, SSRS report development, data modeling, dashboard creation, and supporting data warehouse initiatives. The Developer applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate, interpret, and present data while adhering to established data governance and development standards.


Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and other database objects to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives.

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and support future business intelligence initiatives utilizing Power BI or similar visualization platforms.

  • Develop and support ETL/ELT processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other data integration technologies.

  • Integrate data from multiple systems and sources, including databases, flat files, and third-party applications.

  • Support data governance efforts by promoting data quality, consistency, integrity, and proper documentation.

  • Participate in application lifecycle management and source control processes using Azure DevOps or equivalent version control and deployment tools.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to reports, data integrations, ETL processes, and database structures.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations that communicate business and financial information in a meaningful and actionable manner.

  • Analyze complex data issues and recommend solutions to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and usability.

  • Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.

  • Special projects and duties as assigned.


Required Skills

  • Very detail-oriented with the ability to administer, support, and maintain key business applications and reporting systems.

  • Advanced SQL development skills including T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, query tuning, and database troubleshooting.

  • Experience developing and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and ETL/ELT processes.

  • Experience developing business intelligence reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); exposure to or experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools is preferred.

  • Knowledge of relational database design, data modeling, and dimensional modeling concepts.

  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts, architecture, and reporting environments.

  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems through databases, flat files, and other data exchange mechanisms.

  • Knowledge of financial systems and concepts, including ERP systems, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), budgeting, and financial reporting processes.

  • Understanding of data governance, data stewardship, and data quality best practices.

  • Experience designing dashboards, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate business and financial information.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent source control, version management, and deployment tools.

  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.

  • Experience automating and streamlining business processes and reporting workflows.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with professionals in other administrative departments as well as attorneys and legal staff.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365.


Required Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree 4 to 6 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analytics, Database Development, Financial Systems, or a related technical field.


Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • Experience with legal financial systems would be an asset (Aderant Expert Sierra would be an advantage).

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
