Key responsibilities

  • Own the Coupa and Rossum platforms end-to-end, ensuring their stability, scalability, and proper configuration.

  • Provide support across the finance systems landscape, including ticket triage, incident management, and root cause analysis.

  • Support platform enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives to improve system performance and support efficiency.

Job description

We are looking for a Financial Systems Specialist to join our Global Financial Systems team in Chicago. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning platform reliability, supporting finance stakeholders, and leveraging AI to improve how financial systems are used across a global business.

As the owner of our Coupa and Rossum platforms, you will keep these systems stable, scalable, and well-configured, while also supporting the wider finance systems landscape, including platforms such as NetSuite and Concur.

The role is focused on 70% platform ownership and 30% platform support, but it will evolve over time as we automate support workflows and shift more focus toward enhancements and strategic system improvements.

You will be the face of the Financial Systems team for many Procurement Operations, Finance, and business stakeholders, helping translate system-related issues into clear actions, keeping users informed, and ensuring our platforms remain stable, scalable, and well-supported.

What you’ll do

As a Financial Systems Specialist, your key responsibilities include:

  • Own the Coupa and Rossum platforms end-to-end, keeping them stable, scalable, and well-configured as core systems the global finance function relies on, while supporting adjacent platforms such as NetSuite and Concur
  • Provide L1/L2 support across the finance systems landscape, covering ticket triage, incident management, SLA tracking, and root cause analysis
  • Take on open-ended platform problems, provide clarity, and implement appropriate solutions, simplifying and improving processes within your domain to lift team efficiency
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for finance stakeholders, translating system issues into clear actions and managing expectations through timely, accurate communication
  • Identify repetitive support activities and automate them using documentation, process improvements, and AI-assisted tooling
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, knowledge base articles, and handover materials that reduce recurring issues and capture how Coupa and Rossum are configured
  • Own and prioritize your support queue, following up promptly on tickets, escalations, and stakeholder requests, operating independently on most decisions and seeking guidance on more complex judgments
  • Articulate the upstream and downstream implications of configuration and process changes across the finance systems landscape before they go live
  • Support enhancements and workflow improvements, collaborating with a global team across regions and mentoring colleagues on Coupa and Rossum to keep platforms consistent, reliable, and scalable
What you’ll get

You’ll join a culture of collaboration and excellence, surrounded by curious thinkers and creative problem-solvers. Motivated by a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll thrive in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside talented colleagues, collectively tackling some of the toughest challenges in the financial markets.

In addition, you’ll receive:

  • The opportunity to work alongside best-in-class professionals from over 40 different countries
  • Highly competitive compensation package including performance-based bonus structure
  • 401(k) match up to 50%
  • Comprehensive health, mental, dental, vision, disability, and life coverage
  • Extensive office perks, including breakfast, lunch and snacks, regular social events, clubs, sports leagues and more
Who you are
  • You bring 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in financial systems support, administration, or platform ownership
  • You have hands-on mastery of Coupa, ideally as an administrator or platform owner, across configuration, approvals, integrations, and supplier or invoice workflows
  • You have experience with Rossum or a comparable intelligent invoice capture platform, or the aptitude to take full ownership of it quickly
  • Exposure to the wider finance systems landscape, such as NetSuite, Concur, or OneStream, is a plus
  • You have a strong interest in AI, automation, and process improvement to reduce manual work and improve support quality
  • You take a proactive, ownership-driven approach to managing tickets, priorities, and escalations, operating independently on most decisions and knowing when to seek guidance on more complex ones
  • You have strong communication skills and can translate technical problems into business language for finance stakeholders
  • You have solid documentation skills and can create clear runbooks, knowledge base articles, and support materials
  • You act as a role model for Optiver's values of excellence, continuous improvement, ownership, and collaboration
  • You are motivated to grow as the role evolves from support toward automation, improvement, and more strategic system work
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening
Who we are

At Optiver, our mission is to improve the market by injecting liquidity, providing accurate pricing, increasing transparency and stabilizing the market no matter the conditions. With a focus on continuous improvement, we prioritize safeguarding the health and efficiency of the markets for all participants.
