Who We're Looking For

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Software Engineer who is eager to build, learn, and grow within our dealer and consumer digital platforms. This role focuses on delivering reliable backend services and frontend applications under the guidance of senior engineers, while developing strong fundamentals in cloud-native and distributed systems.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow technical depth while contributing to real-world, production-grade systems that support Toyota's digital and financial journeys.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Software Engineer, you will:

  • Implement features and services using established design and coding patterns

  • Develop and enhance RESTful APIs used by dealer and consumer applications

  • Build UI components using modern frontend frameworks

  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with team standards

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and production support activities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand system design and architecture decisions

  • Support Toyota digital workflows such as VDP, PreQual, and pricing requests

  • Continuously grow skills in cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and engineering tools

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 2+ years of software development experience (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Core development skills in Java and Spring Boot

  • Experience building and enhancing REST APIs for enterprise applications

  • Basic exposure to AWS, including containers, deployments, and logging

  • Frontend development experience with React or similar frameworks

  • Understanding of microservices and cloud-native development concepts

  • Experience writing unit and integration tests aligned with quality standards

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise development practices

  • Willingness to learn domain concepts related to financial services and automotive platforms

Technical Skills - UI

  • Builds UI components under guidance using React or similar frameworks

  • Understands basic UI-to-API interaction patterns

  • Fixes UI defects related to data binding and API responses

Technical Skills - Data

  • Understands basic request/response data models

  • Writes code that handles data safely and correctly

  • Learns how data flows through services, APIs, and event-driven systems

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience working on dealer-centric or consumer-facing digital applications

  • Exposure to event-driven architectures or messaging systems

  • Familiarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Dynatrace
