Job description

Ambassador Personnel, Inc. has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Position Summary

The CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership for a mission-driven private nonprofit university in Georgia. Reporting directly to the President, the CFO oversees all financial operations, ensures fiscal sustainability, and supports the institutionโ€™s long-term growth and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with the universityโ€™s mission and goals

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis

Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, audits, and regulatory requirements

Manage cash flow, investments, institutional debt, and endowment performance

Lead financial reporting and present insights to the Board of Trustees

Oversee departments including finance, accounting, procurement, and risk management

Partner with academic and administrative leaders on resource allocation and program development

Strengthen financial systems, controls, and operational efficiency

Support fundraising initiatives and collaborate with advancement teams

Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in higher education or the nonprofit sector
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory compliance
  • Proven experience working with boards, audits, and complex financial structures
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
