Job Summary
A direct hire Financial Reporting Manager opportunity is available in San Diego, CA for an experienced accounting and finance professional with strong SEC reporting, GAAP, technical accounting, and public company reporting expertise. This role is ideal for a CPA who enjoys high-visibility financial reporting work, cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and technical accounting research.
The Financial Reporting Manager will play a key role in preparing and reviewing external reporting documents, supporting audits, managing XBRL processes, and contributing to accounting projects tied to acquisitions, disposals, lease accounting, equity transactions, and reporting enhancements. This is an in-office role with the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership, internal stakeholders, and external advisors in a professional, team-oriented environment that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file external financial reporting documents, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-3, Schedule 13D, Form 4, earnings releases, supplemental data, and proxy materials.
- Research technical accounting guidance and implement related processes, procedures, documentation, and reporting improvements.
- Manage XBRL tagging and filing processes for Forms 10-K and 10-Q while maintaining strong reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Lead lease accounting review activities, including lease abstracts, whitepaper memos, and training for accounting team members.
- Support acquisition and disposal accounting analysis, equity transaction tracking, journal entries, and internal and external audit coordination.
- Participate in cross-functional accounting and financial reporting projects, including process improvements, system enhancements, and new accounting standard implementations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $95,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Work Arrangement: In office, not remote.
- Location: San Diego, CA.
