It's a new Day 1 for Leo and we are looking for team members to join the Accounting PMO supporting this emerging business.
This position supports and directly influences the launch and expansion of Amazon Leo and drives strategic initiatives that help grow and scale these businesses. This leader will champion controllership and scalability as they partner closely with global stakeholders including business product managers, financial engineering teams, accounting operations, business finance, tax, treasury, and others to deliver world class financial solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to influence leaders are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.
Successful candidates will have deep experience in the following disciplines - Accounting, Program Management, Financial System testing, and Financial Systems implementation. The role requires an individual with finance and accounting knowledge, experience working with technology teams to design and build world class financial systems integration solutions and the capacity to accelerate the launch and management of an ongoing financial integration program. They need the ability to influence senior leaders and the willingness to drive the implementation of decisions across a global scope, balancing time to market with investments in automation.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be able to:
• Develop and drive new programs with cross-functional stakeholders, defining end to end strategy, owning and managing implementation activities, developing processes, metrics, documentation and communications, and supporting continuous improvement of programs.
• Partner with worldwide business, tech, product/ program teams on delivering high-quality program; provide feedback on priorities, outcomes and timelines.
• Partner with business teams to influence business processes and decision making to scale financial recordkeeping health while meeting business objectives
• Communicate and influence adoption of new/updated programs and processes to leaders, employees, and cross functional organizations.
• Collaborate and build relationships with business, accounting, technology, and finance owners globally to build scalable financial automation with the highest degree of controllership.
• Partner with technical and controllership teams to design and deliver key reports and controls.
• Look around corners, is biased for action in ensuring the team is set up for success in achieving our goals, and earns trust through broad stakeholder influence.
• Implement and manage the launch policies and exception mechanisms to identify, inventory, track, and resource automation with multiple technology teams, as well as report status of financial automation initiatives and hold leaders accountable across multiple functional organizations.

A day in the life
Your day typically begins with reviewing overnight readiness metrics and identifying any critical issues requiring immediate attention.
Throughout the day, you'll track key readiness activities, reach out to teams on readiness and test activities, monitor test statistics, and assist with testing activities.
You'll prepare data-driven recommendations for upcoming leadership meetings, translating complex analytics into clear action plans.
Your days can often involve following up on leadership questions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, refining risk assessments for upcoming launches, and assisting the Accounting team in resolving issues blocking deployment of Accounting features.

The AL*STARR team manages Accounting program tasks from test to deployment, playing a crucial role in ensuring successful implementation of financial systems and processes. We focus on maintaining high standards of quality and risk management throughout the deployment lifecycle, helping the organization make data-informed decisions about launch readiness and implementation strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
