Summary and Objective   

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Finance Intern to join our dynamic finance team. The Finance Intern will provide valuable support to the finance department, assisting with various financial tasks and gaining hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. This internship will offer a unique opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the field of finance while contributing to the overall success of our organization. 

Essential functions

  • Assist in financial analysis and reporting by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data. 

  • Help with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations. 

  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities. 

  • Support the finance team in day-to-day operations, including processing invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders. 

  • Conduct research on financial trends, competitors, and industry best practices. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and ensure accuracy and completeness of data. 

  • Assist in maintaining financial records and documentation. 

  • Provide administrative support, such as organizing files, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.

  • This is a part-time internship position that may require occasional weekend and evening hours. 

  • The Finance Intern will work primarily in an office located in North Hills Raleigh, NC 

Physical demands

  • Good manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. 

  • Clear vision to read and analyze financial documents, reports, and numerical data.

  • Willingness to occasionally lift and move office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.   

Required education and experience  

  • Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.  

  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) is a plus.  

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.  

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  

  • Proactive and willing to learn.

  • Currently enrolled in related degree program
