Job description
Halff is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Director to join our Public Infrastructure team in Corpus Christi, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of experience in delivering public infrastructure utilities, local infrastructure and land development projects, an established network of municipal clients, and knowledge of established practices in regional clients' rotation lists, on-calls and pre-qualification pools in the Texas Coastal Bend area. This position will entail the leadership of a Public Infrastructure team, training and mentorship of team leaders and civil engineering staff, and oversight of large/complex projects. This role will require the design and management of civil engineering projects and related pursuits. What you will do:
- Lead and manage multiple teams of engineers and/or other professional/technical staff within their discipline, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

- Develop project scopes, professional services fee development, and staff projections
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Produce winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager
- Support leaders of multiple teams producing public works projects
- Supervise direct reports (Team Leaders)
- Train and coach Team Leaders and Production staff
- Manage project administration and supervision
- Work in a collaborative team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines

What you will need:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Texas
- At least 20 years of experience in utility and public infrastructure design, local infrastructure, public works, municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and land development projects
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients, team members, and stakeholders effectively.
- Servant leader mentality with strong ability to train and mentor staff
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams effectively.
