What You'll Be Doing

As a member of the Corporate Banking team, you'll work in a fast-paced organization where you'll make a meaningful difference in our clients' lives.

As Associate, Agency Services, Project Finance & Infrastructure, you will be responsible for managing all client-facing and lender-facing activities (inter alia, the processing of waivers, extensions, consents, amendments, refinancings) on transactions in our portfolio where CIBC is acting as Administrative Agent or is a bilateral lender to a client. The Agency Services team will serve as the main point of contact for deal stakeholders (sponsors, borrowers, consultants, lawyers, lenders etc.) while closely working with the Portfolio Management team and Deal Execution Teams.

How You'll Succeed

  • The Associate will be responsible for providing dedicated coverage of agented or bilateral transactions in conjunction with the New York Portfolio Management and Deal Teams and the Toronto based CPS (Agency) team

    • Serve as the main point of contact for deal stakeholders as set out above

    • Co-ordinate the lender group in responding to Borrower requests such as amendments, waivers or consents

    • Co-ordinate and direct the relevant advisors on a transaction (e.g. independent engineer, legal advisor, insurance consultant) as needed to respond to Borrower requests

    • Distribute required information and reports to lenders as needed

    • Organize and participate in all lender / sponsor calls and updates

    • Discuss and answer credit and deal structure related questions from other lenders.

    • Determine whether required lenders have approved or declined borrower requests

    • Assist Portfolio Management Agency team leader in various reporting and presentations to CIBC senior management

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000-$185,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
