Job description

Are you a strategic financial leader looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are seeking an experienced CFO/COO to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our executive leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our organization. The CFO is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Southern Coos Health District's Financial Services Department. This includes the preparation of financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and the general economic outlook. The CFO provides financial management oversight for the development of high-quality, cost-effective programs within the District and oversees the major workforce and resource decisions for the District. The CFO oversees resources associated with District financial operations and is responsible for integrating the strategic plan of the district with its operations. The CFO supervises the following departments: financial accounting, patient accounting, admissions, materials management, and plant operations. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

The COO has responsibility for day-to-day operations of the facility and related services, ensuring that staff deliver high quality, and cost-effective care. The COO will have responsibility for optimizing hospital operations in the following areas: Quality and Patient Safety; the Patient Experience; Facility Expansion & Capacity Management; and Strategic Planning & Operations Excellence. The COO will mentor and support hospital administrators, board of directors, medical staff, and other hospital personnel. The COO will be expected to manage department budgets, identifying new business lines, increase revenue, and pursue innovative possibilities to enhance patient focus and community needs.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, preferred.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent managerial skills.
