Position Purpose

The Service Operations Assistant supports front-end and customer service operations by assisting store leadership in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring efficient execution of daily store activities. This position provides leadership support, assists with associate development, and helps achieve service, productivity, and operational goals throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and promote a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with questions, concerns, returns, exchanges, and service requests.
  • Resolve customer issues professionally and promptly.
  • Promote company programs, services, and customer loyalty initiatives.
  • Serve as a role model for customer service excellence.
Front-End and Service Operations
  • Support daily front-end operations, including check stands, self-checkout, and customer service areas.
  • Assist in monitoring customer traffic and service levels to ensure efficient checkout experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling, register operations, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and safe service areas.
  • Support opening, closing, and shift transition activities as assigned.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Provide daily support and direction to front-end and service associates.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Help reinforce performance expectations and operational standards.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Support leadership with coaching and employee development efforts.
Operational Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail, grocery, or customer service experience required.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and cash handling experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Work Environment
