The (USA) Manager, Finance plays a critical role in driving strategic financial planning and analysis to support business performance and decision-making. This position involves developing financial models, analyzing variances, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate forecasting and risk mitigation. The role requires effective communication of financial insights to senior management and stakeholders, while overseeing compliance with company policies. The Manager also leads and develops associates, promotes continuous improvement, and supports initiatives that align with organizational goals and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Finance team partners closely with the Transportation Operations group at Sam’s Club, focusing on driving financial initiatives and delivering accurate annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range plans. This team plays a critical role in managing a $1.1 billion transportation P&L by providing insightful financial analysis and identifying risks and opportunities. Utilizing strong financial acumen and data analytics, the team supports business decisions and performance improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional partners ensures alignment with corporate goals while promoting continuous process enhancements and transparent financial reporting to senior leadership.
What you'll do:
  • Prepare financial analyses and models to support strategic planning and recommend future expense targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business performance and communicate significant variances.
  • Develop and maintain complex control structures to mitigate financial risks and enhance reporting transparency.
  • Produce financial models incorporating assumptions, risks, and forecasts for senior management presentations.
  • Support business unit budgeting by providing insights on historical trends and expected future events.
  • Lead and develop associates through mentoring, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and promote ethical standards in all financial processes.
