Purpose of Position
The Financial Systems Manager is responsible for the governance, integrity, and strategic management of enterprise master data, financial systems, and related business processes. This role ensures the accuracy and reliability of data supporting financial reporting, planning, operational execution, and business decision-making across the organization.
The position serves as a key liaison between Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and other business functions to drive data governance, optimize business processes, implement automation solutions, and maintain effective system controls. The Financial Systems Manager leads the development of scalable data structures, reporting hierarchies, and workflow efficiencies that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
Essential Job Functions:
Financial Systems & Data Governance
  • Lead governance and administration of enterprise master data including products, customers, vendors, materials, bills of material, routings, and organizational hierarchies.
  • Establish and maintain data standards, policies, controls, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all business systems.
  • Evaluate and improve data quality through ongoing audits, exception reporting, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Ensure master data structures support financial reporting, forecasting, operational planning, and business analytics requirements.

Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify, develop, and implement process automation opportunities that improve efficiency, control, and scalability.
  • Manage and enhance workflow tools, forms, and system integrations supporting master data management and business processes.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to define system requirements, prioritize enhancements, and support technology initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual processing and improve data reliability.

Organizational Hierarchies & Reporting
  • Design and maintain enterprise reporting hierarchies for products, customers, sales organizations, and operational structures.
  • Ensure alignment between system configuration and business reporting requirements.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management through the maintenance of accurate system structures and reporting dimensions.

Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Oversee approval workflows, authorization matrices, and system access controls to ensure compliance with company policies and internal control standards.
  • Support audit activities by maintaining effective documentation, governance practices, and data validation procedures.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Internal Audit teams to strengthen control environments and mitigate risks associated with data integrity.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Master Data and Financial Systems personnel.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure service levels are met across business functions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise data governance, financial systems, and process design.
  • Build strong partnerships across Finance, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Accounting, Tax, and Information Technology teams.

Reporting & Business Support
  • Support period-end, month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities through system maintenance and data management.
  • Develop and deliver key performance indicators, operational metrics, and ad hoc analyses supporting leadership decision-making.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives involving ERP systems, reporting platforms, data governance, and process transformation efforts.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required, relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in Financial Systems, Data Governance, Master Data Management, FP&A, Finance Operations, or related business systems roles.
  • Experience leading enterprise data governance initiatives and system optimization efforts.
  • Experience working within ERP environments supporting manufacturing, consumer products, food production, or other complex operational businesses preferred.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional projects and implementing process improvements.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, planning systems, master data governance, and internal controls.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable system and data solutions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, business intelligence tools, workflow automation platforms, and reporting applications.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience developing and managing teams.
