Duties
Help
- You will develop, present, defend, review, and evaluate budget estimates and requests while supporting organizational plans, programs, and activities through careful analysis, accurate reporting, and informed financial guidance.
- You will monitor obligations and expenditures, prepare detailed financial reports, and ensure spending aligns with approved plans while helping leaders make informed decisions based on accurate budget information and policy guidance.
- You will analyze financial management practices, recommend cost effective alternatives, and provide practical advice that improves administrative operations while supporting responsible use of funds across organizational programs and activities.
- You will interpret budget policies and practices, help develop financial procedures, and provide guidance that strengthens compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while promoting effective financial management throughout the organization.
- You will recommend efficient methods for acquiring and using funds, evaluate financial requests, and support planning efforts by providing thorough analysis that helps achieve organizational goals with responsible resource management.
- You will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, and financial management responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and support organizational planning by delivering reliable financial information that promotes sound operational decisions.

- This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. This certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines
Qualifications
For GS-11 your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing cost analysis; formulation or execution of budget or estimates; examining financial documents; OR monitoring obligations or expenditures.
For GS-12 your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing analytical duties or formulation of budget or estimates; performing technical work assignments within financial or accounting systems; performing analysis of budget execution; OR developing recommendations regarding financial impact to operations or mission readiness.
