This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Birmingham Region. It is in the Birmingham Area Office. The Financial Management Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating all financial management activities within the Birmingham Region.
- The selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above; this is not a remote position.
- This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Qualifications:
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Financial Management Specialist, as described below.
For GS-13: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-13 includes:
- Formulating budget requests and cost estimates in support of organizational plans, programs, and/or objectives;
- Analyzing systems, transactions, and/or records to determining if fiscal policies and procedures are being adhered to;
- Providing advice and guidance to others regarding accounting, financial management, travel management, procurement/equipment, and/or space management issues;
- Applying relevant laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, or methods governing the administration of Federal grant agreements and/or awards;
- Conducting grant agreement reviews or analyses to identify and resolve management, financial and/or administrative issues throughout the grant lifecycle.
