Job Summary:
The Financial Consultant, as part of the Financial Consulting team, is responsible for identifying process inefficiencies and recommending strategic improvements. This role also includes assessing and addressing inefficiencies within the client's Financial EMR system.
Key objectives include:
  • Enhance financial effectiveness by analyzing current practices, identifying gaps, and implementing best-in-class financial strategies tailored to the unique needs of post-acute care providers.
  • Optimize workflows and financial operations to ensure seamless billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management, with a focus on reducing errors and maximizing profitability.
  • Contribute to the advancement of electronic medical records (EMR) support by collaborating with clinical and administrative teams.
  • Support clients in adapting to evolving regulations and market dynamics by providing expert guidance on financial management, reimbursement strategies, and technology adoption.
  • Foster client relationships by maintaining open communication, offering training and technical assistance, and ensuring successful implementation of recommended enhancements.

Through these objectives, the Financial Consultant aims to empower post-acute care organizations to thrive in a complex healthcare landscape, leveraging expertise to achieve measurable improvements in financial performance and operational quality.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional financial consulting services to clients through onsite and/or remote engagement.
  • Achieve objectives defined within the scope of each consulting engagement.
  • Deliver technical assistance and training sessions to individuals or groups, as appropriate to the engagement.
  • Prepare written communications regarding engagement status and outcomes in accordance with Richter & Associates' established formats and standards.
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate alternative approaches and present recommendations that reflect both technical and business considerations.
  • Review and process client documentation accurately and in compliance with applicable payer billing requirements.
  • Report project progress and outcomes to clients and management in alignment with defined engagement parameters.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all client communications and engagement activities.
  • Establish and clearly communicate engagement expectations, including scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide education and instruction on relevant business components, systems, and procedures.
  • Participate in all required meetings and organizational activities.
  • Remain current with State and Federal regulations, industry standards, and best practices within the post-acute care sector.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Business Administration or Information Systems; however, other fields may also be considered.
  • Experience in post-acute financial management, including Skilled Nursing, Home Health, and Hospice.
  • At least one year of consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and meeting objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of the post-acute field and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational abilities and proficiency in change management.
  • Proven ability to interpret and address client requirements effectively.
  • Strong analytical abilities coupled with creative problem-solving skills.

Abilities:
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Post-Acute EMR systems, preferably PointClickCare and/or Matrix Care.
  • Experience with Clearing House systems, preferably Waystar and/or Inovalon.
  • Must write, speak, and interact clearly and professionally using English
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and handle the physical duties of the position unless a formal accommodation under ADA has been requested and approved.
