Job description


United States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a Business Planner. We are looking for motivated self-starters that can work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and driven to improve business performance through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. The position offers exposure to manufacturing, supply chain management, commercial and logistics processes while developing future leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages production scheduling of customer orders
  • Monitor and analyze work-in-process and finished goods inventory
  • Cross-functional coordination with Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Commercial teams
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports supporting business planning and decision-making
  • Interacts with and supervises salary union-represented personnel
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, accounting, finance, operations management or a related field
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and extended hours as necessary
  • Ability to travel to meetings, trainings, etc. as necessary
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with various levels of management
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Computer literacy to a working skills level-proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Manufacturing and operating experience preferred
