What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Financial Inclusion Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Financial Inclusion Manager, you need expertise in financial services, regulatory knowledge, and a background in economics or business, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with digital banking platforms, mobile payment technologies, and data analysis tools is commonly required, along with certifications such as CFA or financial inclusion-specific training. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cultural sensitivity are crucial soft skills for building trust and promoting inclusive financial solutions. These skills enable managers to effectively design, implement, and scale financial products that reach underserved communities, driving both social impact and organizational success.

What are some common challenges faced by a Financial Inclusion Manager when implementing new programs in underserved communities?

Financial Inclusion Managers often encounter challenges such as building trust within underserved communities, overcoming regulatory and infrastructural barriers, and tailoring financial products to meet diverse local needs. Establishing strong partnerships with community organizations and local leaders is crucial for successful outreach. Additionally, navigating limited access to digital tools and ensuring financial literacy among target populations are ongoing priorities that require creative, culturally sensitive solutions.

About Servier
Servier in the U.S. is a Boston-based, commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company launched by Servier Group in 2018. As a privately held organization, Servier is uniquely positioned to advance cutting-edge science, tackle underserved therapeutic areas and make patients the focus of every strategic decision.
Role Summary
The Senior Manager, FP&A Business Partner leads financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for the U.S. Medical function. Reporting to the Director of FP&A Strategy, this role serves as a strategic finance partner to Medical leadership, ensuring strong financial governance, high-quality reporting, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions, and delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions, resource allocation, and performance.
This role builds strong cross-functional partnerships across Medical, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, and Global Finance to strengthen financial governance, improve processes, and support effective and forward-looking decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Planning

  • Partner with Medical leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and multi-year financial plans.
  • Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner by challenging assumptions, highlighting risks and opportunities, and proposing data-driven solutions.
  • Acts as a connector across Finance and the business

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Build and maintain robust financial tracking and reporting, including budget vs. actuals, forecast variance analysis, and cost driver explanations.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, actionable management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level insights.
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaid amortization reviews, and recommended journal entries, ensuring compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Manage vendor commitments, purchase orders, and invoices to maintain strong financial control.
  • Support intercompany transactions, including allocations, documentation, and process flows.
  • Approve, track, and manage vendor commitments, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure proper financial control.

Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
  • Own and serve as the FP&A systems lead for Adaptive Insights, acting as the primary liaison with IT and ensuring integration with Google Cloud and SAP.
  • Leverage financial systems and automation to improve reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and insight generation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with Procurement and Legal to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Support new system implementations and enhancements (e.g., ERP, workforce planning tools).

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Industry, and R&D Finance partners to understand and consolidate financial results and key drivers.
  • Build strong, credible relationships across the organization and operate with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Job Description
Candidate Profile
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A, controlling, or finance, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry supporting Medical or R&D functions.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Advanced experience with financial systems (Adaptive Insights strongly preferred; SAP preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups; macros a plus) and experience with Power BI.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking capability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear business insights.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects independently.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented
